If you were one of the many people annoyed at how big Call of Duty: Warzone is, rejoice! While Activision hasn’t revealed just how big Warzone 2 is, take comfort in the fact that for the sequel, you won’t need to download and install a traditional Call of Duty game, as Infinity Ward has confirmed that Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone will be separate downloads.

Speaking to Gamestar, Infinity Ward’s Co-Design Director of Multiplayer for Modern Warfare Joe Cecot confirmed that players can choose to download and install Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 separately, though the integration between games will be “seamless” again. Here’s what Cecot had to say (via Google Translate):
You should be able to download them separately. Still, the integration will be seamless again, so you don’t have to exit the game to switch from Warzone 2 to multiplayer, and vice versa. So this is very quick and easy, but you can still determine the installation yourself. – Joe Cecot, Infinity Ward Co-Design Director of Multiplayer
This is definitely good news, as there are those who might not want to play Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer though are interested in Warzone 2, and vice versa. At the very least, this gives players an option and help control their disk space.
