If you’ve been wondering where hardcore mode is in the latest Call of Duty game, you’re not the only one. Thankfully, that’s about to change next month, as Modern Warfare 2 Hardcore mode has been confirmed to be included in Season 2 by Infinity Ward!
This was announced by the studio today over on Twitter:

As you can see, a blog post for Season 2’s multiplayer new additions are being pushed out this coming week! Chances are, we’ll also hear about the Season 2 new map, new weapons and more!
Set to launch on February 15, Season 2 for both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will also feature Ranked Play for multiplayer, a new smaller map for Warzone 2, DMZ new additions and more! We got the tease for it last week, but prepare for a deluge of info set to drop this coming week.
For those not familiar with how Hardcore mode works in multiplayer shooters, it’s a more “realistic” take on gunfights, as it usually means that 1-2 bullets will be enough to down an enemy. Not only that, but the HUD and UI are also taken out to make the game slower and a bit more tactical.
Once we know more info about Hardcore mode and whatever stuff is being prepped for Season 2, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.
Don’t you find it odd? Wasn’t Tier 1 mode supposed to be HardCore? Whats the differences between these two modes and are both going to be running concurrently in Playlists? I think they are covering their butts as there was negative feedback from the HardCore players about Tier 1 mode. Now they are announcing ‘HardCore is coming back’ as a separate mode alluding to the fact that what we were already playing wasn’t HardCore. Seems shady.
