Infinity Ward has released the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 update for April 8, and this is a server-side patch, which means players won’t be required to do anything, as the patch will automatically be applied once players connect to the game’s servers. This patch doesn’t include any gameplay-related changes outside of fixes related to log-ins and the like.

Modern Warfare 2 Update for April 8 Patch Notes:

Here’s the announcement from Infinity Ward regarding the “Hillcat” issue players have been experiencing:

Here’s a list of the known issues the studio is looking into (via the Trello Board):

GLOBAL ISSUES:

Fix Incoming:

  • We’re aware of an issue affecting Double Kill Challenge tracking for some Players.

Investigating:

  • We’re investigating an issue following the latest update to Polyatomic camos where some surfaces do not display as intended.
  • We’re aware of an issue some Players are experiencing affecting progression and attachments on the ISO Hemlock.
  • We’re aware of an issue where changing the fire mode on the M16 is not reflected on the UI indicator.
  • [Gunsmith] We are investigating an issue where some players cannot acquire additional camos in Gold, Platinum and Polyatomic tiers if they have already acquired enough camos to unlock the next tier. For example, if you have 51 Platinum camos, you are unable to earn additional Platinum camos because 51 is the number you need to unlock Polyatomic.

MULITPLAYER KNOWN ISSUES:

Fix Incoming:

  • We’re aware of an issue in Hardcore Private Matches that can prevent the proper HUD elements from displaying in game.

Investigating:

  • We’re aware of irregular animation and behavior of Tactical Sprint in Private Matches.
