Modern Warfare 3 Community Calling for Gaia Skin to Be Removed, as It Promotes Pay-to-Win

Modern Warfare 3 Update for November 30

Despite visibility previously tweaked in the Call of Duty Warzone Season 6 patch, the Gaia operator skin is again in the spotlight, as the Modern Warfare 3 community calls for its removal due to it practically being pay-to-win.

The Gaia Skin, a skin for the Nova Operator, is again under fire. For those who remember when it was initially launched last month, many in the community complained about its visibility due to the nature of the skin being tree-like, comparable to Groot from the Marvel Universe. It received harsh criticism, to the point that players have called it pay-to-win due to needing the Battle Pass to earn it and the skin being nearly invisible in some environments. That was eventually addressed (to a degree) in the Season 6 Warzone patch, though with the launch of Modern Warfare 3, the Gaia skin is once again a problem.

This skin needs a nerf, it is so OP in estate and wasteland. Literally invisible

Seriously, Remove this skin now enough is enough with this Pay 2 win

I can attest to the complaints, as I’ve played plenty of matches on Wasteland, where the skin would almost be impossible to spot. Since it can be partially seen through, and the color schemes are brown and muddy, common in outdoor maps, you can understand why it’s hard to see. We took the skin into private split-screen matches to show this effect.

If that green dot weren’t in that second photo, you’d probably never guess where the second player was. Even in the first photo, they’re hard to see. You can begin to understand why many are calling it pay-to-win, as while it doesn’t make you a better player, it does hide you from others, letting you get the drop on them without them realizing it. This skin is definitely up there with the original Rose Skin, which was also criticized for visibility until it got a proper fix.

Even if the skin isn’t removed, Sledgehammer NEEDS to address it. Call of Duty, in general, has to stop introducing such skins and other pay-to-win items. Let’s hope Sledgehammer is listening to all the feedback given by the community thus far. We’ll continue to monitor the skin should a nerf come.

Modern Warfare 3 is officially available starting today.

sounds like a graphics or monitor/tv issue, or just plain bad eyes. Some people need to learn that some things cant just be the game. Git Gud, Git better screen, Git BP only options. Better hurry before 1st season starts. Hot take : i have the skin, i use the skin , im still trash= skin wont raise your already weak k/d.
