Monster Hunter Wilds Equipment Appearance Crashing Issues Affecting Players After Title Update 2; Devs Outline More Known Issues

Late yesterday, Capcom released the latest content drop for Monster Hunter Wilds via Title Update 2. With the patch, the developers introduced a slew of new content such as new monsters, layered weapons and more.
Unfortunately, the patch also brought in something unintended, and that’s a major bug.
If you’re experiencing game crashes when you check the “Equipment Appearance” menu, you’re not alone.
Monster Hunter Wilds Equipment Appearance Crashes Acknowledged by Capcom
Over on X (formerly Twitter), Capcom mentioned, “We have confirmed that the game may crash when you open the “Equipment Appearance” or “Palico Equipment Appearance” via the Appearance Menu in your tent.”
The devs are working on the issue and will provide an update once they have it.
Outside of that, there are also other issues the developers are aware of which include:
- The text for the Cosmetic DLC Pass is not displayed correctly in the Claim Content menu at the Support Desk. (PS5 only)
- If adjustments have been made to the Keyboard Configuration settings before the update, keys assigned to Ascend and Descend for Underwater Controls may have duplicate control binds. (Steam only)
*To avoid this issue, open the Keyboard Configuration settings and reassign the key that shares a control assignment with Ascend/Descend. - Network connection may be lost when performing a Focus Strike on Rey Dau with an Insect Glaive under certain situations.
- The game may crash when selecting Equipment Appearance or Palico Equipment Appearance in the Appearance Menu that can be accessed from a tent.
Chances are, this Equipment Appearance crash bug will need a patch to fix, which means it might take a while before we see it rolled out, given the devs need to pass certification on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.
