Capcom finally confirmed in June this year that Monster Hunter Wilds is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, ending months of speculation.

The company has made sure that its biggest games arrive on Switch 2, often with day-one launches alongside other platforms. However, the Monster Hunter Wilds port has needed more development time.

The extra time is being used to make sure the game runs well on Nintendo’s console, and the latest findings from dataminers suggest that Capcom is achieving that goal.

The game’s latest update has been closely examined by dataminers, who shared new details about the port’s performance on X/Twitter.

In docked mode, the game is expected to run at resolutions between 1080p and 1440p, while handheld mode targets resolutions between 720p and 864p. These resolutions are made possible by the console’s DLSS upscaling technology, allowing the game to maintain image quality without making major cuts to visual detail.

The reported resolutions are promising, but they would not matter without solid performance. According to the leaked data, the game is expected to run at 30 to 40 FPS.

With the help of dynamic resolution, Capcom is aiming to fully optimize the Switch 2 version. That is something the original PC release struggled to achieve and, at times, the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions also failed to deliver.

So it is understandable that the company wants to take extra time before releasing Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2.

At the time of writing, Monster Hunter Wilds for Nintendo Switch 2 does not have a release date. As more information becomes available, we’ll make sure to let you guys know here at MP1st.
