In case you didn’t know, NetherRealm Studios has taken the Mortal Kombat 1 servers down for maintenance this Dec. 14, as we’ll be getting Quan Chi today alongside a new game update. However it seems players are having issues now with characters appearing locked as well.

Update: For those wondering what’s going on with the servers, apparently, it’s still being worked on by WB, This is the latest update we’ve gotten an hour ago.

While NetherRealm hasn’t issued a formal announcement regarding the downtime, players on various platforms have confirmed that the game’s servers are out. In addition to that, multiple gamers have also reported that their characters are locked out! DLC character Omni-Man and even Shang Tsung are seemingly inaccessible for now.
The patch isn’t live just yet, but those with the Season Pass can download Quan Chi right now. Once the patch notes are live, we’ll provide a link to it within this article. Same with the servers, once it’s working again, we’ll let our readers know by updating the article.
In other MK1 news, NetherRealm has confirmed we’ll be seeing crossplay be available in February 2024! Read up on that right here.
Also the fatality we were supposed to get for free is also requiring me to buy the winter fatality, not sure if anyone else has that too.
Same issue and now servers are down for me and I cant access most of my content including characters shang tsung, havik, omni man and quan chi as well as paid costumes and earned content…its very frustrating!
See this is why i hate how everything is online now a days. Didn’t have this trouble in the early 2000’s. You just popped in a disk and didn’t have to worry about all of this online crap.

Mine worked for a little bit I was playing as quan chi then I turned it off for a bit an now it says shits down wtf man always something lol

I have the season pass and was able to use Quan chi but invasion mode was 100 percent complete it gave me all the unlockables right after the game shutdown and I haven’t been able to connect to the server I deleted the game re downloaded it and still can’t connect
