This version of UMK3 was originally developed to support Midway’s WaveNet online matchmaking service for arcade machines, and was the only arcade release to feature Noob Saibot as a playable character. It has been “emulated and preserved” by Digital Eclipse, which adds another game that you probably didn’t play back then.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection’s physical version will be released on December 12, 2025, for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC. The digital version will include PS4, Xbox One, and Switch editions, though the date for that will be revealed at a later date.
In related news, Warner Bros. is focusing on “core” franchises in its gaming division, and this includes the Mortal Kombat franchise.

Only version I haven’t played is the WaveNet – really looking forward to seeing this in action! It is like my generations Polybius. Just a thing that was rumored and only existed in a limited market.
