Mortal Kombat Movie Reboot Coming to Both Theaters and HBO Max in 2021

With the global pandemic putting a lot of things on hold including the release of some hotly anticipated movies, Warner Bros. revealed today that it has put its entire 2021 slate of films in a simultaneous release for both theaters and HBO Max — and that includes the Mortal Kombat movie reboot which also gets its first official logo revealed.

In a move that certainly will change the way films are viewed as choices are given during these trying times, the new Mortal Kombat film joins the likes of The Suicide Squad, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Godzilla Vs Kong, and the new film adaptation of the epic sci-fi classic Dune among the releases that will air on HBO’s streaming service on the same time as its global cinema release. The new Mortal Kombat film, which will be directed by Simon McQuoid, was scheduled to be released on January 15 next year. However due to the pandemic that got delayed to a better time when it was safer to go back into theaters — And now we know what the game plan is for the film’s release next year.
