Neil Druckmann on The Last of Us Part 3: “I Think There’s More Story to Tell”

the last of us part 3

We’re getting more and more info on the upcoming The Last of Us TV series that’s set to air later this month, but there may be even more to look forward to in the future. A recent hint from Neil Druckmann, writer of the games and co-president of Naughty Dog, may point at the possibility of The Last of Us Part 3.

In a feature from The Hollywood Reporter, Druckmann only had a few words to say regarding the possibility of The Last of Us Part 3. “I think there’s more story to tell,” he claims, which isn’t a whole lot to go by, but it at least reveals that if they ever need a story to build Part 3 upon, the idea’s there.

While that’s the only thing we learned from Druckmann when it comes to Part 3, the feature also talks a bit about the HBO series. Season 1 will cover everything from the first The Last of Us game, and while it wasn’t outright confirmed, a possible second season may be based on The Last of Us Part 2, the game’s sequel. This is worth noting due to TLOU Part 2’s varied reception among fans of the story.

The Last of Us TV series is set to premiere on January 15. If you’ve got the time and you’re interested in comparing the series to its source material as the show unfolds, then check out our review of The Last of Us Part 1, which is a remake of the original game.
