While we don’t even know the title of the new Battlefield game being developed by DICE and three other EA-owned studios, more and more info about the game has come to the surface thanks to the Battlefield Labs playtest leaks.

Not only have people leaked footage about the multiplayer, but it has been datamined as well, which has led to another layer of information leak. This time, the datamined info confirmed the existence of an in-development battle royale mode that should be part of the new Battlefield game.

Before diving into the info, remember that these are from datamined files, and as such, could be leftover code from past games or ideas, and there’s no guarantee we’ll see it appear in the new Battlefield game. Got that? Good.

New Battlefield 2025 Battle Royale Info Spotted in BF Labs Playtest Client

The info comes from the 1|BF group who has shared datamined info and even screenshots of the unconfirmed battle royale mode. It looks like there will be “Gauntlet Missions” in the mode, and we have some of the names of those objectives and what players will need to do to complete them.

Gauntlet missions

VENDETTA
Protect targeted squadmates and eliminate key enemy operatives who could compromise the mission.

ELIMINATE HOSTILES
Capture Points and Kill Hostiles

RODEO
Seize a tank and keep it out of hostile hands.

HOTWIRE
Race to Capture Zones and destroy Hostile Vehicles.

EXTRACTION
Collect Data Drives and deliver them to an Extraction Point.

DECRYPTION
Collect and Decrypt as many Beacons as possible.

HEIST
Retrieve classified intel and deliver it to squad HQ.

CIRCUIT
Capture control nodes to build your network.

TERRITORY
Secure vital locations for combat dominance.

There are also alleged images of the HUD and tutorial of the battle royale mode.

A Battlefield game featuring a battle royale mode isn’t anything new, as Battlefield V had the short-lived Firestorm battle royale that fizzled out fast. While the Battlefield franchise looks like it’s the perfect game to adapt to the battle royale genre,  DICE fumbled on BFV’s release, which translated to Firestorm, and the rest is history.

We’re hoping DICE nails this battle royale mode out of the park, if it does come with the new Battlefield game. That said, the excitement for the genre has wanted significantly from years past, as even Call of Duty: Warzone is in dire straits right now. It’s not a question whether Battlefield vets will embrace this new battle royale, but do gamers even care about the genre outside of the big three (Fortnite, Apex Legends, Warzone)? Your guess is as good as mine, but as long as the battle royale mode doesn’t hamper the development of the multiplayer mode, then fans should be OK with it, right?

In other Battlefield news, if you’re wondering why the leaks all look like they were filmed using a potato, there’s a good reason for that as explained by the leakers.
