New Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 Skin for Sale Looks to be Ripped Out of MW2019; Delivers More P2W Elements

Just last month, we reported on how Activision has started selling literal pay-to-win (P2W) items in Warzone 2’s DMZ mode. Apparently, that bundle did well enough that the company has rolled out a new Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 bundle that once again gives paying players an advantage, though this one gives an added slap to the face to players as it seems the skin in the bundle being sold is a skin from Modern Warfare 2019!

The new bundle called “Thorns Out” (pictured above) is now available for 1800 COD Points (or roughly around $18 in real-world currency), and offers a UAV “Bonus Effect” that gives owners an unfair advantage in DMZ. While that in itself is quite egregious as it is, it’s made even worse by seeing that the bundled skin for operator Roze is the same one (give or take a color change or two) to its Modern Warfare 2019 counterpart.

Check out the comparison from MW2019’s Roze skin:

Important to note that items from Warzone 1 and Modern Warfare 2019 cannot be carried over to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, though Activision has refrained from explaining why.

Hopefully the next new skins we see are actually, y’know, new, and not just re-colored/reskins of old ones reintroduced as new items for players to purchase. I mean, the fact that we’re getting more P2W elements is bad enough, but selling old items as new?

What do you think? Are the skins different enough that it’s OK for Activision to sell it? Sound off in the comments below and let us know.
