New Mortal Kombat Movie to Be Rated R, Will Feature Fatalities

Did you know there’s a new Mortal Kombat movie that’s being made? While video game movie adaptations haven’t exactly been masterpieces, the 1995 film was actually (in my opinion) one of the better ones that was released, though it didn’t really feature any of the franchise’s trademarked gore and fatalities.

That won’t be the case with this new Mortal Kombat movie, though. Over on Twitter (via PCGamer), movie scribe Greg Russo mentioned that the new Mortal Kombat movie will not only be rated R (18 and up), but it will also feature Fatalities — a first for the movie version of the game.

Since it’s already been stated by other members of the team, I’m gonna put this one to bed. MK WILL be R-Rated and for the first time EVER, FATALITIES will FINALLY be on the big screen (and no I’m not gonna say which ones) You’ll just have to wait for the movie & see!!! 😉

Will we finally see Sub-Zero’s spine-ripping death blow? Maybe something more gory? Given how good CGI is these days, the sky’s the limit.

The new Mortal Kombat movie has started filming in Australia this year, and is due out sometime in March 5, 2021.
