New MW3 Xbox 360 Update Allows Elite DLC Access for Multiple Profiles

Infinity Ward has released a new mandatory update for Modern Warfare 3 on Xbox 360.

It’s worth noting that PS3 version of the game also received a new patch, 1.08, which Xbox 360 users downloaded on January 24th. However, unlike patch 1.08, the new update is not intended for weapon rebalancing and bug fixes, it is released to rectify the “unintentional” Elite DLC profile lock on Xbox 360. Numerically, this is title update #9, patch 1.09, for the 360. The 5MB patch fixes the Elite Gamertag lock allowing different profiles to access paid Elite DLC on the same console. As you may remember, last week Robert Bowling released a statement regarding the subject stating that players “who purchased the latest DLC Content Drop for Modern Warfare 3  while signed into other profiles on the same console that originally downloaded the content.” Bowling explained, “this is unintentional and we will work to get an update out.” Another Infinity Ward developer noted that yesterday’s patch “was a targeted fix.” The ninth patch was “pushed through Microsoft a.s.a.p.”
