A new trailer for the highly anticipated Super Mario Bros. movie just dropped, and this time, we get more lines from the film’s star-studded cast. This new trailer comes a couple of months after we got our first glimpse of the film in a brief teaser trailer.

The film is directed by Michael Jelenic and Aaron Horvath, who worked on the Teen Titans Go! show and movie. Featuring prominent actors such as Chris Pratt, Jack Black, and Anna Taylor-Joy, the film reimagines the classic platformer game on the big screen.

What’s interesting to note about the new trailer is that at the moment, the film doesn’t stray too far away from its source material. In fact, you can see scenes of Mario running about in a 2D-like course, a clear homage to the franchise’s 2D platforming origins. Later in the trailer we also see Mario alongside other characters riding all sorts of vehicles, a reference to the popular Mario Kart games. 

The Super Mario Bros. Movie will premiere on April 7 next year in theaters only, so mark your calendars.
