New Xbox Showcase to Be Held in Los Angeles “This Summer”

After yesterday’s Developer Direct event, a new Xbox showcase has been announced to take place in Los Angeles later this year in the summer. While the last such showcase was held at E3 2019, Xbox has not mentioned if the showcase will take place as part of the convention. Bethesda’s Starfield standalone show remains “in the works.”

Xbox and Bethesda’s Developer Direct event revealed the release dates (with fresh gameplay footage) of Redfall (May 2) and Minecraft Legends (April 18), new Forza Motorsport gameplay, and the new Necrom expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online. It also revealed Tango Gameworks’ rhythm shooter Hi-Fi Rush, which was released immediately after the convention through Xbox Game Pass.

While Xbox has been promising a standalone show for Bethesda’s Starfield title, it has also teased other projects in the works to be revealed in the summer. A full-fledged Xbox summer showcase has not taken place in years: the last such event was held at E3 in June 2019, where the studio showed fans a staggering 60 game projects. While it is unlikely that the planned showcase will be of similar scale, Xbox gamers now have much more to look forward to regardless.

As for right now, you can check out the full details of yesterday’s Developer Direct reveals here.
