Nintendo Switch 2 Officially Revealed, Out in 2025

It’s finally official! The Nintendo Switch 2 has finally been announced today, as previously rumored. Before diving into the trailer, you’ll be glad to know you won’t have to wait long to own one, as Nintendo has confirmed it’ll be released sometime this year.

There’s a new trailer featuring the console, as well as a chance to get some early hands-time with the device before it officially launches.

Nintendo Switch 2 Direct Announced for April 2025

 

The Nintendo Switch 2 will not only play its own games, but also digital and physical Switch games, though some Switch games might not be fully supported or compatible.

There will be a Nintendo Switch 2 Direct set for April 2, 2025 (Wednesday) which will air on Nintendo’s YouTube channel.

How to Play the Nintendo Switch 2 Early?

Nintendo has also announced the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience events where people can get some hands-on time with the upcoming handheld.

Expect more details for the Switch 2 to leak, as has been the case since last month. However, for anything official, we’ll have to wait for Nintendo to reveal them in April.

I hope the Nintendo Switch 2 isn’t as hard to find as the PS5 was when it first released.
