One Piece Odyssey Gameplay Trailer Showcases Alabasta Saga Moments & Turn-Based Combat System

ILCA and Bandai Namco Entertainment have unveiled a new One Piece Odyssey gameplay trailer, which features characters and moments from the series’ Alabasta Saga and provides an overview of the game’s mechanics and gameplay format.

One Piece Odyssey incorporates the Straw Hat Crew as swappable characters in a party, each with their own unique field actions. Conversations between party members provide exposition as the player navigates through the world. The game features turn-based combat, where players can swap between members of the party to best deal with enemies at both short and long range. Players will also encounter “Dramatic Scenes” which are special combat scenarios with unique rewards, as well as side stories and bounty hunts that will require them to make full use of their arsenal.

One Piece Odyssey will launch on January 12, 2023, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pre-orders for the game are now live.
