In case you didn’t know, Overwatch 2 is now out and servers have been activated — at least for a short while, as Overwatch 2 down reports have surfaced this launch day of October 4, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.

Overwatch 2 Down Server Status and Updates for October 4:

Update: Mike Ybarra, president of Blizzard, has confirmed that they are experiencing a mass DDoS (distributed denial of service) attack on the servers, which is contributing to the server issues.

Blizzard has issued an announcement that they are aware that players are seeing the “Unexpected Error” message.

[#OW2] We’re aware that some players are encountering an Unexpected Server Error message when attempting to sign in. This is actively being worked on. Thank you for your patience!

Mind, this really shouldn’t be that surprising, as I gather, millions of players around the world are all trying to login at the same time, which would definitely tax the servers. If you’re new to the game, read up on what you need to know in order to play it. Once Blizzard announces more updates regarding the server situation, we’ll update the post accordingly.

If you can connect and play, leave a comment below and tell us which platform you’re on, and where you’re connecting from.
