To say that Overwatch 2’s launch hasn’t been what Blizzard was aiming for is an understatement, Not only did we get server outages that happened daily, but there were DDoS outages, gameplay exploits that needed fixing and more.
In a new blog post, Blizzard has thanked players for their patience, and as a token of goodwill, the studio will be giving out an Overwatch 2 free Legendary skin for Reaper, as well as a weapon charm! Those who log in from October 25 through the end of Season 1 will be eligible for the freebies.
In addition to that, to help make up for lost time, “several” double XP weekends are planned, though there are no specific dates shared just yet.
Finally, the studio also shared that a patch will be released later this week, which we’re guessing will re-insert Bastion and Torbjorn back into the game sans bugs. While the game is “largely stabilized” overall per Blizzard, there are still a list of issues being worked on which you can read about here.
