It seems the gamers who aren’t ready to give up physical media won’t take things lying down. In today’s Phantom Blade 0 State of Play, developer S-Games showcased 20 minutes of Phantom Blade 0, featuring story elements and gameplay.

While the footage shown off was incredible, it seems no one cared as the majority (literally about 90%) was all about how Sony’s “Gree Has No Limits” (a play on Sony’s marketing push), pushing for CD emojis and more.

This isn’t really surprising given how passionate a lot of gamers have been about against Sony’s push for a disc-free future.

The actual gameplay footage shown off was quite impressive, and it was a welcome surprise to see martial arts legend and actor Donnie Yen talk about the game too.

One quick look at the cmments section of the video will tell you all you need to know:

Today’s showing also had no news on whether we’ll see a physical release for Phantom Blade 0 on PS5. I wouldn’t hold my breath, to be honest, as the developers would have already shared info about it if they had anything to announce.

Another bummer was that there was no announcement for a demo — something we were expecting based on a PSN Store leak.

Of course, given the game won’t be released in over two months, that doesn’t mean there won’t be a demo at all. If there is one planned, expect it to be released near the game’s launch.

When it comes to Sony’s disc-free future, it might be a bit easier to take for a lot if the PSN Store’s features and refund policy weren’t stuck in the past.

Phantom Blade 0 is set for release on October 29 on the PS5 and PC.
