ps4 update 7.00

Heads up, PlayStation 4 owners! PS4 firmware 7.00 is dropping this week according to Sony, and it will roll out new Party, and Remote Play features.

For the Party feature update, here are the new features gamers can expect in PS4 firmware 7.00:

  • Maximum number of Party users increased from 8 to 16
  • Network connectivity improved
  • Audio quality improved
  • Accessibility support with Chat Transcription has been added (US Only)

Sony also says that within the Party feature, players will experience better connectivity and audio quality. New back-end improvements have been made to ensure a better overall experience.

The Party app will also feature a new “Chat Transcript” mechanic that allows US users to use their PS4 second screen app on your mobile or tablet devices. This new feature supports English (US), and converts party voice chat to text, or lets the user enter text that is read aloud to other party members. If using your mobile device to connect to your PS4 console during a Party, the player will now see a new Party tab that lets you know of this new feature.

As for Remote Play, gamers can now stream select PS4 games on their mobile devices and tablets! Just download the Remote Play app from the Google Play store for this feature. Note that you will need to have a device that runs Android 5.0 or higher in order to use it.

For iPad and iPhone users, the Remote Play app has been updated so players can now see the display of the controller at all times, and lock the screen orientation.

Lastly, players will be able to use their DualShock 4 controllers via Bluetooth for Remote Play on Android, iPhone, iPad, and Mac! You do need to update to Android 10, iOS 13, or macOS Catalina to use this feature though.

Same as before, once PS4 firmware 7.00 is out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know ASAP.
