The PlayStation 5 Pro has now become the best-selling console on Amazon in multiple countries, including the United States. Despite its higher price point of $700, which has been a target of criticism, the console seems to have captured the interest of gamers, with pre-orders rising fast.

Several Amazon listings show the PS5 Pro leading sales charts in countries like the US. The console’s popularity might seem surprising considering the backlash over its price and missing features, such as the vertical stand that isn’t included in the box. However, the improved technical specs, including the ability to run games at a higher resolution and more consistent 60fps, seem to have convinced many buyers.

PS5 Pro currently the best-selling console on Amazon in several countries.

Here are the countries where it is currently the best-selling console:

  • United States
  • United Kingdom
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • France
  • Spain

Sony officially unveiled the PS5 Pro last month, with lead system architect Mark Cerny highlighting its improvements. The new hardware promises better ray tracing and overall improved performance, allowing games to run at higher resolutions and smoother frame rates. However, the reveal didn’t go as smoothly as expected, with many gamers expressing frustration over the higher price, especially since key accessories like the disc reader and vertical stand are sold separately.

It’s also worth noting that the PS5 Pro ranks as Sony’s third most expensive console ever, even after adjusting for inflation. To make matters worse, Japanese gamers are dealing with an even higher price. The console is priced at 119,980 yen (approximately $847 USD) in Japan, which is far above the $699 USD price tag in the U.S. Given current exchange rates, this should be closer to 100,000 yen, making the extra 20,000 yen (or about $140 USD) feel like an unfair surcharge to Japanese players.

While the PS5 Pro is the best-selling console on Amazon, this doesn’t mean it’s breaking sales records everywhere. The numbers likely depend on how many consoles are in stock. Right now, it’s still available in many countries and hasn’t sold out yet. We’ll have to wait and see if the PS5 Pro keeps leading in sales as its November release gets closer.

Um, yeah…not exactly a prime console buying period, for anything other than a new launch like the “Pro”.

And Nintendo fans screamed blood when Chris Prat was voicing Mario. Then they go see the movie multiple times when all it turns out to be is Cameo and Reference The Movie.

You forgot the extra 170 euro Europeans are being ripped off with. 700 dollars is 630 euro yet we are being charged 800 euro.

Reminder Xbone x outsold nothing when it launched in Nov 2017.

A lot of people are getting a Pro. Look what happened weeks ago right before the Pro first became available on Sony Direct. The external disc drive shot up to number 5 on Amazon and stayed there for over a week. Considering that most game sales are far in the favor of digital, that in and of itself should be an indicator. They weren’t getting this for the Slim. The Pro will end up like the Portal. Detractors denounce its viability, then it immediately becomes a success on launch day.

It shouldn’t be a surprise. The internet is a place where the complainers are the loudest and once one starts they all join in chorus, but it normally doesn’t translate into the marketplace. People forget how many complainers there were when the PS5 was announced at 500 and not 400 (USD) but we see how that turned out. When cell phones jumped in price from hundreds to a thousand the internet cries rained down but were quickly silenced when people spoke with their dollars. Moral of the story, who cares what John/Jane Doe cries about from their parents basement online, wait for real outcomes and numbers come in from people who have better things to do than to go online and tell people not to buy something because they want because they say not too.

Seems no one looked at the source for the amazon best seller. It shows in “#1 Best Seller in PlayStation 5 Games” and don’t compare to other consoles. 2# place goes to “EA SPORTS College Football 25” don’t think people should put too much into this news article

It’s Number 6 in best-selling for video games, only being outranked by gift cards. And as a console, it’s the best-selling one currently, with the PS5 standard at #13, and Switch at #50

Exactly this. For Amazon currently #23 in the UK, 34 in Spain, 23 in France, and 13 in Germany. All of those sites have other PS5s in and around that unit. In the US the Disc Drive is still in the top 100 at 65 and that should be a huge indicator in light of the fact so many people buy digital. That it is in the top 100 at all should make people realize the Pro is selling in sizeable numbers. As I said earlier, most people aren’t getting that for the Slim.

The Pro is currently sitting at #9 for Bestsellers at Best Buy and that is with less than a week of sales data.
