Those gaming on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita will want to take note of the upcoming PSN maintenance.
The scheduled maintenance will take place later today and is expected to last for 30 minutes.
Prepare to temporarily lose access to some features starting at 10pm ET.
As for what to expect during the downtime, here’s the official description by Sony:
Anyone who already has an account can still sign in to their PlayStation™Network profile, play games and use most applications while this maintenance is carried out. You will not be able to access PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, and Account Management during this maintenance. We apologise for any inconvenience. We recommend activating your PS4™ as your primary console before maintenance begins so you can continue to play most games and use 3rd party services during maintenance.
Sony hasn’t made clear what exactly this maintenance is for. Perhaps it’s implementing preparations for the 5.0 update? Or maybe not.
