PSN Servers Down and Having Issues Worldwide This Sept. 30
Those jumping in online on their PS4 and/or PS5, we’re here to be the bearer of bad news. It seems the PlayStation Network is down for gamers worldwide this September 30 (October 1 for outside the US), and more and more reports are flooding in right now.
Are the PSN Servers Down This September 30?
Update 2 (Oct. at 5:14 am EDT): PSN is back up! The official status page has announced that the service is up and running again.
Update (Oct. 1 at 2 am EDT): The PSN servers are still down, and the most Sony has acknowledged it is with a Bungie (which is a Sony owned studio) announcement:
We are continuing to actively track issues affecting login for all PlayStation players.

We’ll provide more updates once more news develops.
Over on the PS5 subreddit, multiple thread have sprouted all stating that PSN is indeed down.
It’s also confirmed to be having issues on Downdetector as well. Sony’s official PSN status page has acknowledged the outages for all facets of the service:
The official Ask PlayStation account where most announcements regarding outages have not acknowledged the outage, though we expect that to change soon. There is no planned maintenance, so this unexpected outage has no warning whatsoever. Once Sony acknowledges it or provides a proper announcement, we’ll be sure to update the article.

Me too. This sucks. Fix it PlayStation!
(Playing on ps4), Was able to get on psn store but not sync my trophy list. That quickly changed about 3-8 minutes ago… as now psn store only is saying “please wait”… and now it’s having trouble loading the store’s unselectable options of “psn store, search, & cart when trying to exit and re-enter.
This is kinda suprising…. or at least that it’s across all systems.
Edit: Within last 2 minutes, it has stated “This service is currently undergoing maintenance.”
… So yea…. at least there’s that.
Edit2: Installed add-on content doesn’t show up during this apparently…. or at least it appears blank on the list. That’s damn scary to think about.
Edit3: Nvm…. took 5 minutes almost but it just showed up. Not sure if it’s not working for some and working for others thou considering how long it took.

Mine has been down over an hour. Thought it was just me and my PS4, but my boyfriend’s PS5 has crashed now too. No online services at all. In Ontario, Canada
Out in Texas 915 and surrounding area, can’t connect, Sony Playstation Networks are down and out.
No service from Sony here and other areas of Texas and New Mexico.
Was on while it went down. Been playing Outlast Trials. Still connected but haven’t quit the game to see if I can play other games.

Down for about 2hrs in Sydney Australia so far. Thought I was banned or my PS+ had run out. Glad I’m not the only one having issues. They’ve acknowledged on their website in the service status that it’s down

I’d say “File a complaint”, but there’s probably thousands upon thousands and more complaints already being sent in. All i can say to that is hopefully you weren’t banned permanently, and Id recommend still fileing a complaint… in like a day or 2 maybe. Since psn call services are either going to hate their job, or pretend to the boss they are doing it while the auto machine does the calls(this is a joke btw).
They’re probably flooded with complaints already, so It would be difficult probably… thou either way they probably also wouldn’t be able to resolve it anyways til this whole thing is fixed first.
Thou they’ll have to then go through thousands of similar complaints, no doubt.
I do not envy them rn at all.
Either way, good luck! Also, maybe drag a old friend over and dust off a older system for a bit, or just use offline multi-player game…. Id be doing that myself if I could rn. Got a certain something to do soon thou…. namely sleep.

I had just came home from school and I was gonna hop on apex but the servers were down and you can’t play any game on PlayStation not even offline ones! #playstationfixtheservers

(THIS IS JUST MY THOUGHT AND OPINION!!!) I think this is that hacker group who threatened Sony earlier this year that they would hit Sony if they didn’t pay the ransom, wonder what happened with that… I could be wrong bc I don’t pay too much attention to nonsense but hey!
