PSVR2, PCVR, and Quest VR Are About to Have Some of Their Best Months for Games
Things are looking really good for virtual reality (VR) owners right now, as an onslaught of major IPs, both established and new, are set to release from now until the end of this year. Though we can’t predict how well each of these titles will fare in terms of reviews, we certainly can tell you that you’ll have plenty of new games to look forward to before the year ends, whether you game on the PSVR2, Quest, or PC.
What Games Can VR Players Look Forward to in 2024:
Arizona Sunshine Remake – Quest, PCVR, PSVR 2 – October 17
Did you know that the original Arizona Sunshine is getting a remake? Well, now you do, and it’s releasing this week! The remake comes with a handful of improvements, most notably the visual upgrades, which you can see in the reveal trailer.
Batman: Arkham Shadow – Quest 3 Exclusive – October 22
Up next is the new Arkhamverse title, Batman: Arkham Shadow. Set between Arkham Origins and Arkham Asylum. Batman: Arkham Shadow will once again see players take on the role of Batman as he faces off against a new threat: The Rat King. There’s not much really known about the plot. However, Camouflaj, the project’s developers, promised we’d see plenty of familiar faces, even those belonging to villains before they became villains! The combat will also be played from Batman’s perspective, allowing us to use a wide range of his gadgets, perform takedowns, and engage in hand-to-hand fighting.
This is the second Batman VR title to be released, and it is canon to Arkham Universe for all those Arkham fans looking for more Batman.
Metro Awakening – Quest, PCVR, PSVR 2 – November 5
Two weeks after Batman: Arkham Shadow’s release is Metro Awakening. An entire Metro game built from the ground up for the VR experience and developed by Vertigo Games, the developers behind Arizona Sunshine Remake, Arizona Sunshine 2, and plenty of other big VR titles. Though the studio is very familiar with VR, they seem to take things to the next level with Metro Awakening, as its impressive gameplay.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 – PCVR – November 19
One of the most immersive Flight Simulators out there is about to become even more immersive, as official VR support it coming! Sadly, it’s only on PC, though given that the title isn’t on PlayStation or the Quest, and the Xbox doesn’t support VR, we aren’t surprised. I’ll say this as someone who enjoys playing sims, adding that VR experience on top of it will be an absolute game-changer.
Skydance’s BEHEMOTH – Quest, PCVR, PSVR 2 – December 5
Here’s one that might not be on many people’s radar but should be: an original new IP from Skydance that sees players facing off against, well, behemoths. It looks pretty epic from all the gameplay trailers they’ve shown off, with plenty of physic-based swordplay to be had, though it’s the God of War-like epic fights that’ll see you scaling these massive skyscraper beasts that look to be the game’s highlight.
Alien: Rogue Incursion – Quest, PCVR, PSVR 2 – December 19
BEHEMOTH isn’t the only “behemoth” to come out in December; a new licensed Alien game is also coming to VR platforms. Alien: Rogue Incursion is a new single-player horror game set in the Alien universe with an original new story. Developers Survios says it’s a game,e by fans, made for the fans, and though we’ve only seen short snippets of the gameplay so far, there are some promising things about it that make it note-worthy to keep an eye on.
Hitman: World Of Assassination – PSVR 2 – December 2024
Last up and closing up the 2024 year for VR is Hitman: World Of Association VR, a VR reimaging of the original Hitman World of Assassination game. If you thought all the planning, stealth, and killing in the original game was crazy, the VR version is going to let you relive all of that, from the first-person view, with you in full control. I mean, just take a look at the trailer, it looks absolutely bonkers.
These are just some of the few VR titles that are dropping in the next few months, the biggest ones, but still just a few. That’s not to mention the several that are still planned for this year, like Zombie Army VR and Aces of Thunder, both of which don’t have a release date but are scheduled for 2024.
Regardless, the remaining months of this year are looking to be filled with potentially massive VR hits, the kind of hits that may make you consider getting into VR. I know I’m excited to get my hands on some of these!

PSVR2 is particularly exciting right now (esp if you also have the adapter for PC as you get the best of all worlds then – standalone stuff bores me rigid so I don’t care about a sub-par batman mobile game vs RE4rm/GT7 and ALIEN/METRO etc on OLED HDR with adaptative triggers and head haptics – on my upcoming PS5 PRO)
They all come with their own compromises TBH
I love the way the PSVR2 works, and the power behind it, but I also hate that it’s corded.
The Quest 3 is a great upgrade, but graphically, it’s just not there. You can use it on a PC at least to get those visuals, but we are talking about a petty expensive rig at that point. But that freedom to walk around wherever you want it pretty big.
I own all these, though, it is hard to decide where I want to play, cause I really like what PSVR2 does. That PS5 Pro is gonna be a nice upgrade for it
