Redfall PC Crossplay Confirmed Between Steam, Epic, Xbox & PC Game Pass

redfall pc crossplay

Ahead of the game’s May 2 release date, Arkane Studios Austin has confirmed unrestricted game store crossplay for Redfall, meaning that PC players will be able to play with owners of the game on different PC stores including Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox’s PC Game Pass service as well as with the game’s player base on Xbox Series X|S consoles.

The availability of crossplay across PC game stores and services has recently been a heightened concern with new and upcoming games. Most recently, Team Ninja’s Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty locked PC players on Steam out of the Xbox-PC Game Pass network, which meant that players who owned the game on Steam had multiplayer access to neither the Xbox nor the PC Game Pass player bases.

As subsidiaries of the Microsoft-owned ZeniMax Media, Arkane Studios Austin and Bethesda Softworks have taken care to avoid such a restriction with Redfall. All players on PC regardless of what game store they use will be able to play with each other, as well as the game’s player base on Xbox Series X|S. With Xbox Play Anywhere, progress is automatically carried between the PC Xbox Store/Game Pass-hosted version and the Xbox Series X|S version of the game. As such, players who own the game on the Xbox Store or through Game Pass will be able to seamlessly continue their experience on either platform should they switch at any point.

Redfall creeps out on PC and Xbox Series X|S on May 2, 2023. For more burning questions you may have about the gameplay and other functionality, check out Arkane’s new player-aggregated FAQ post that sheds more light on different aspects of the game as it nears release.
