Report: Armored Core 6 Engine is the Same as Elden Ring and Sekiro

FromSoftware’s upcoming sci-fi mech action game Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is reportedly using the same engine from Elden Ring and Sekiro. The info isn’t official, but it comes from modder Lance McDonald, a source that is known for fiddling with games from the Japanese developer and even creates some interesting mods, such as one where players could control the enemies in Bloodborne.

Lance McDonald shared the finding on his Twitter account, confirming “100%” that Armored Core 6 runs on the engine that powered the widely acclaimed Souls-like games Elden Ring and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice:

With Elden Ring and Armored Core 6 seemingly so different both in terms of visuals and core gameplay mechanics, this may come as a surprise to some. It ends up being a welcome confirmation and one that many players were already expecting, the modding community in particular given the potential for exploring the possibilities, including optimization aspects.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon launches on August 25 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and the initial impressions are very positive. You can check the PC system requirements to see if your rig is up to the fight, and the Armored Core 6 trophies have already been revealed as well, with 30 trophies in total.
