Report: Call of Duty 2025 Said to Be Advanced Warfare Sequel

Advanced Warfare Sequel

A new rumor suggests that Sledgehammer Games is working on a Call of Duty Advanced Warfare sequel that is reportedly coming in 2025. The sequel will be a follow-up to the 2014 title, bringing the franchise back to a more fast-paced futuristic shooter.

RalphsValve reported via WhatifGaming that an Advanced Warfare sequel is in the works, and is slated for 2025. According to the report, this title is scheduled about a year after the release of Treyarch’s next Call of Duty game in 2024. It seems like Modern Warfare 2 will run for about two years before Activision returns to its annual Call of Duty release cycle.

Another Call of Duty leaker, TheGhostOfHope was able to corroborate this rumor.

Nothing else about the Advanced Warfare sequel was shared in the report, except that it is indeed in the works. However, assuming that it is a direct sequel, it will be set sometime after 2061 and may even continue the story of Jack Mitchell. It’s also safe to assume that Activision might be trying the futuristic approach (again) with Call of Duty after the feeble reception of Vanguard.

Activision hasn’t acknowledged or commented on the report as of yet. Therefore, take this rumor with a grain of salt and we will make sure to update our readers as soon as any development or announcement is made.
