Fortnite fans have much to look forward to in December, as all Chapter 1 seasons are reportedly coming back permanently, with each season rotating monthly. Although Epic Games has yet to officially confirm, several reliable sources suggest an announcement is likely before the end of 2024.

This information comes from a well-known leaker, HYPEX, who shared that “FORTNITE OG RETURNS PERMANENTLY IN DECEMBER,” a move fans have eagerly awaited. In late 2023, OG Fortnite exceeded Epic Games’ expectations, which seems to have prompted the studio to consider its return. However, few anticipated that all ten original seasons would come back a year later.

Earlier this year, rumors swirled that OG Fortnite might return as a separate mode, similar to LEGO Fortnite. However, HYPEX reports that these returning seasons will feature both Build and Zero Build modes, along with the completely original loot pool from Chapter 1, allowing players to experience the game exactly as it was.

It’s expected that Epic Games will confirm this news at either the Fortnite season finale or The Game Awards 2024, alongside other major announcements. Another reputable source, ShiinaBR, also supports HYPEX’s claim. Shiina shared, “Both HYPEX and I can confirm this.” For fans concerned about ongoing content, Shiina clarified that “Chapter 6 and this are not the same thing, and it will still be released as scheduled.”

The permanent return of Chapter 1 seasons is exciting for players who want a taste of Fortnite’s early days. Many remember that Chapter 1 shattered records upon its initial release, even inspiring players from other games like Call of Duty: Warzone to request similar features in their own game.

The move to bring back each Chapter 1 season with the original loot and play modes addresses player feedback from last year when OG Fortnite ended after just a month, leaving many fans wanting more. With December just around the corner, it looks like Chapter 1’s comeback is almost here. Now, all that’s left is for Epic Games to make it official.
