Report: GTA 6 Preview Event Was Hands-Off and Embargo Lifting in Time for Netflix Premiere
With the recent Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks blowing people’s minds on how much there is, some might have assumed it came from a preview from a press member or content creator that just wanted to share info ahead of whatever contract to agree on.
While we can’t say for sure where the info came from, we recently received word that there was a GTA 6 preview event held recently for the media, but they weren’t given free access to mess around with the open world or anything like that.
Based on what we’re told, they weren’t even to get their hands on the game at all.
GTA 6 Preview Event Was Held in July
Speaking to someone familiar with the situation, MP1st was told that the preview event for GTA 6 was held in July, and it was a hands-off event.
The impressions from this event is set to go live the same time as the Netflix premiere airs, which is on August 27.
We weren’t given the exact date on when this event took place or what area of the map was shown off, as those will be stuff we’ll learn more about next week. Chances are, we’ll see official gameplay shown off, and it should alleviate concerns about how some parts of the game look unpolished.
While Rockstar looks set to showcase the game properly soon, don’t expect to hear anything about GTA 6 Online, as the word is Rockstar wants to focus on the main game first.
Expect more info to be revealed soon, as it seems the leaks continue to flow, and there’s also the Netflix special that should give us a lot of official info as well.
In other GTA 6 news, Rockstar Games is using advanced AI to create organic random events.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to be released on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
