Just over a week after launch and it appears that gamers may have dug up a pretty nifty hidden secret in Destiny that has yet to be uncovered.

As NowGamer reports, players who’ve data-mined Destiny’s files for hidden information have discovered a new competitive multiplayer playlist called “Trials of Osiris”. According to the playlist’s description, “only the worthy may face the Trials of Osiris” which takes place on the planet Mercury, a location that has yet to be explored in the game’s story thus far.

It also reads that the playlist consists of the 3 vs. 3 Skirmish game mode:

“Trials of Osiris (Skirmish): 3v3. You have caught the eye of Osiris. Venture to Mercury and prove yourself as one of the Crucible’s elite. Only the worthy may face the Trials of Osiris, for only the worthy are strong enough to endure what is to come. A string of victories will earn great rewards – but lose three times and you’re out.”

Additional information indicates that the playlist and map is only accessible by earning a Tournament Ticket, a rare item drop that can be attained by scoring wins in the Crucible. Better chances awarded to those who’ve increased their Activity Reward Bonus by scoring at least 25 wins in a particular game mode.

A Tournament Ticket will grant you access to the new playlist on Mercury, but it doesn’t mean you can stay there forever. As per the description, any more than three defeats and you’ll lose access until you’ve earned yourself another Tournament Ticket. The longer you stay in the Trials of Osiris, the better your rewards will be.

No reports of anyone actually earning a Tournament Ticket have surfaced as of yet, so take everything with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, it sounds exciting and hopefully someone will earn themselves the rare drop soon so we can all see what it’s about.

Live this weekend is Destiny’s Combined Arms Crucible playlist with more Salvage and Iron Banner playlists to take place in the coming weeks. Check out the details here.

Keep your sights on MP1st for more Destiny updates.
