Report: Mortal Kombat 11 DLC Fighters Leaked, Here’s the List (Potential Spoilers)

mortal kombat 11 sindel

In almost every fighting game these days, one of the biggest draws is knowing that more fighters are coming post-launch as DLC. With Mortal Kombat 11, given NetherRealm Studios’ history for including characters from other franchises (games and movies), it’s a bit of a guessing game who’ll make it into the Mortal Kombat 11 DLC fighters list, and it seems we now know exactly who these characters are!

Note that before diving in further, some of the characters listed here might be considered spoiler-ish for some. Also note that there’s no guarantee that these fighters will all make it into the game since the info does come from datamining the game, and as such, could be placeholder files or something of the sort. Got that? Good.

Thanks to the Mortal Kombat Leaks subreddit (via ResetEra), the list of known Mortal Kombat 11 DLC fighters have been revealed, and it’s all due to the Nintendo Switch version!

Mining the Nintendo Switch version of Mortal Kombat 11 shows the following files:

  • DependencyRootPaths=$GameDir$\Content\DLC\ShangTsung
  • DependencyRootPaths=$GameDir$\Content\DLC\Joker
  • DependencyRootPaths=$GameDir$\Content\DLC\Nightwolf
  • DependencyRootPaths=$GameDir$\Content\DLC\Terminator
  • DependencyRootPaths=$GameDir$\Content\DLC\Sindel
  • DependencyRootPaths=$GameDir$\Content\DLC\Spawn
  • DependencyRootPaths=$GameDir$\Content\DLC\Ash
  • DependencyRootPaths=$GameDir$\Content\DLC\Fujin
  • DependencyRootPaths=$GameDir$\Content\DLC\Sheeva
  • DependencyRootPaths=$GameDir$\Content\DLC\EnvironmentName
  • DependencyRootPaths=$GameDir$\Content\DLC\StoryName
  • DependencyRootPaths=$GameDir$\Content\DLC\GOTY

Here’s the list in just name form:

Joker
ShangTsung
Night wolf
Terminator
Sindel
Spawn
Ash
Fujin
Sheeva

In case anyone’s doubting the authenticity of it, this leak was verified by multiple users right here, and you can even see the game files dissected in the series of images below. In case you have the Nintendo Switch version of the game, here’s how to check it yourself.

Again, there’s no guarantee that all the fighters listed above will make it into the Mortal Kombat 11 DLC fighters list, or if there’s more that’ll be added down the line. Nonetheless, seeing Ash from Evil Dead and Joker in the list should be a cause of excitement for some players, I think.

this just means it should have been in the game at launch not chopped out and sold as dlc.

No, it isn’t. They don’t develop the game and all these additional characters and then sit around like “hmmm? What can we take out to sell later”.

DLC is put on a roadmap for them to work on after the main game has already gone gold and is being printed to disc. They put the code hooks in to make actually adding the characters easier when they patch it later, but the DLC in almost all cases is NOT finished by the time the game is ready to ship and it’s NOT “chopped out” just to make extra money.

Don’t think this list is correct necessarily. Kombat Pack only includes 6 characters and 9 are listed here
