Silent Hill: The Short Message synopsis and official art were revealed by Taiwan’s Game Rating board, and the title was first leaked by insider Dusk Golem. Now, Dusk Golem has doubled down and leaked Silent Hill: The Short Message plot details.

Silent Hill: The Short Message follows a 17-year-old protagonist named Anita Planelt, who is a loner in school except for having one friend named Maya. Maya has been friends with Anita for a long time, and is one of the popular kids at school. But Maya always made time for Anita. However, they have grown distant over time due to what Golem describes as Anita’s strange behavior, including “slitting her wrists.”

One day, Maya is found dead by suicide in her apartment. Anita takes it into her own hands to uncover what happened to Maya at her apartment. Golem writes:

Anita is invisible in her class, though she has one friend, Maya. who’s she’s known since she was a kid, and still makes time for Anita when no one else really will. However, more recently Anita & Maya had been growing a bit apart due to Anita developing destructive habits, such as looking at shocking things on the internet, slitting her wrists, venting things out into a story she had been working on, etc. However, one day to the shock of the class, Maya is found dead, having committed suicide. Anita
has alot of complicated emotions due to her own feelings on suicide and own struggles, and decides to go to the place that Maya took her life at to better understand what Mava was going through and maybe how she felt going through with it. She also gets curious since someone is continuing to post on Maya’s social media even after her death. It has to be someone else of course, but who even is it?

This somewhat lines up with the synopsis that were revealed by the Taiwan Game Rating Board:

Anita came to an abandoned apartment in order to meet her friend Maya, and somehow woke up to find herself trapped in it. She must escape her own fears and the monsters lurking in the corridors, discover the truth behind the events she’s trapped in, and try to escape before her own trauma consumes her will to survive.

Dusk Golem iterates that the plot is from late 2020, and might be subjected to some change if not fully revamped or rebooted. Therefore, take these plot details with a grain of salt.
