While Konami has been pretty tight-lipped when it comes to Silent Hill: The Short Message, we finally get to learn a bit more from the upcoming game, specifically concerning the game’s synopsis. What’s really interesting is how the information was revealed, though—it was found on the Taiwan Entertainment Software Rating Information (TESRI) website.
As it’s from a Taiwanese site, the synopsis is in Chinese. Here’s the synopsis when translated via Google Translate:
Anita came to an abandoned apartment in order to meet her friend Maya, and somehow woke up to find herself trapped in it. She must escape her own fears and the monsters lurking in the corridors, discover the truth behind the events she’s trapped in, and try to escape before her own trauma consumes her will to survive.
Alongside the synopsis, the TESRI webpage also features some official art of Silent Hill: The Short Message. It’s a little grainy and vague, but perhaps that’s on purpose.
Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time we’ve gotten information on the new Silent Hill game via a game rating website. Last September, we learned about the game via Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee. Konami hasn’t been as silent with Silent Hill with other games, though, announcing a remake of the classic Silent Hill 2 as well as a new, Japan-based game called Silent Hill f.
With no major announcements or reveals from Konami just yet, it looks like fans of the Silent Hill franchise will have to wait a little longer before they get to learn more about The Silent Message, at least from the developers themselves.
