Report: Silent Hill: The Short Message Rating Surfaces in Korea, Alleged First Screenshot Leaks Out

It looks like a new Silent Hill game might be unveiled soon, as “Silent Hill: The Short Message” has been rated in Korea, though no platforms were mentioned.

The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea (which is like the country’s ESRB) has pushed out a rating for Silent Hill: The Short Message, which is a title that hasn’t been formally announced by Konami. The publisher is listed as UNIANA, which also publishes other Konami games in the country.

Over on ResetEra, Dusk Golem posted an image of what’s purportedly an in-game screenshot, which features a narrow hallway in a dilapidated house. You can also see characters exchanging dialogue on the right side too.

It’s unknown at this time if Silent Hill: The Short Message is somehow connected to the playable “Sakura” concept that leaked earlier this month, though we wouldn’t be surprised if it is. Given this is a game rating announcement, and how accurate these things are, this is by and large, an official game. If you’re a Silent Hill fan, this is definitely something to be excited about.

Hopefully, we’ll get a proper announcement soon. Mind, most people were hoping for a Silent Hill or Metal Gear announcement at Konami’s Tokyo Game Show 2022 event, but all we got was a Suikoden HD remaster announcement, which, while cool, isn’t in the same level as a Silent Hill or MGS unveiling, no?
