Report: Sony Under Cyber Attack, Ransomed.vc Successfully Breaches Company With Intent to Sell Data

Sony Cyber Attack from Ransomware Group Ransomed.vc

Sony is being struck a cyber blow with a ransomware attack from the newly-originated group known as Ransomed.vc. The claims are simple: the group has infiltrated the Sony Group Corporation with a declaration of systems being compromised. It comes through in the form of a shady document, detailing the files obtained, a post date, and demands.

In short, this new attack stems from the Dark Web, retrieved by Cyber Security Connect. The mysterious document shares the purpose of Ransomed.vc before going into details about the Sony attack. With a Post Date set for “29.9.2023” (September 29, 2023), a purchase of $88,000,000,000 ($88b) must be in play. Otherwise, the hackers will commit to their backup plan, as verbatim: “we have successfully compromised all of sony systems. We wont ransom them! we will sell the data. due to sony not wanting to pay. DATA IS FOR SALE”. The message concludes with, “WE ARE SELLING IT”.

Sony Cyber Attack Demand

At this time, Sony has not commented on the issue. With only a few days away, who knows what will happen once the post date comes around for the end of the month? Will our PlayStation systems be compromised? Will Sony have to shut its online gaming service while it deals with Ransomed.vc? Only time will tell.

Having been established just this month of September 2023, Ransomed.vc has been circling the digital news. This is due to its notorious presence as a ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) model, where affiliates are actively being connected for one reason or another. If you have a Sony account and are worried about the new cyber attack, be sure to take any necessary precautions for your data before the post date of September 29, 2023.

Not really worried, numerous articles claim they have 6k files. I’d assume that Sony has more then 6k files, besides who says it’s “Playstation files” that was obtained. Sony is more then just PlayStation. 6k files doesn’t seem like alot for a company the size of Sony. They entire statement “We hacked all Sony systems” is a contradiction, if they hacked all Sony systems they would without a doubt have more then just 6k files.
