Report: Valorant Console Versions in the Works According to Datamine & Job Listing

Valorant console

According to a datamine by well-known leakers of the game, Valorant console versions are currently in the works and much closer than we think, with strings referencing the platforms already in the existing code. Riot Games, Valorant’s developer, have not discounted the possiblility of porting the game over to consoles, and this may be the proof of it.

Reported by Shiina over on Twitter, here are the references to Valorant for console:

Console release for VALORANT might be closer than actually expected. These strings were added to the files today:

– “Connection to “PSN” has been lost.”

– “Connection to Xbox LIVE has been lost.”

As an additional piece of evidence, Riot Games is now hiring a senior game designer for consoles, and the description reads:

As a Senior Game Designer, you will design, tweak, and optimize the player experience. Your analytical skills, player insight, and creativity aid in crafting in- and out-of-game experiences that engage and surprise players. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and work with every tool at hand to innovate and iterate player-focused designs that’ll delight millions around the world. Design and refine features, modes, and systems to help bring console game products to market. You will report to the Senior Manager, Game Design.

While this post may be for a different game entirely, the timing for these new strings for Valorant may point to the game coming soon to consoles. However, as is with all things rumored and unconfirmed, take this one with a grain of salt until officially confirmed.
