Rumor: GTA 6 Physical Edition to Be Delayed to Avoid Leaks
Given just how big Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to be, spoilers leaking early almost feels certain. With a game of this scale, even small details getting out ahead of launch could spread quickly, which is likely something Rockstar and publisher Take-Two want to avoid.
Some industry insiders suggest the company could be looking for ways to limit those risks, even if it means adjusting how and when the game is released. One possible way to do this would be to delay physical copies
GTA 6 May Release in Digital Format First

According to a new leak, physical editions of GTA 6 may not be available at launch. Instead, the game would release first in digital form, with physical versions arriving later.
The idea is that GTA 6 would launch digitally on console stores, like the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store. The PC version is not expected to launch at the same time as the console versions. The reason behind this strategy would be to reduce the risk of leaks and story spoilers before release.
This information comes from insider Graczdari, via Polish outlet PPE. The same source has previously shared accurate details about projects such as Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 coming to PS5 and the release of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on the Switch 2.
The insider claims that Take-Two is currently planning a digital-only launch in November, assuming the game is not delayed. This would also align with the fact that the PS5 Pro does not include a disc drive, and that a large percentage of Xbox players already buy games digitally. However, this decision could upset many dedicated PlayStation players who still prefer physical copies.
Graczdari also notes that there are conflicting reports about how long the wait for physical editions might be. Some sources suggest they could arrive three to four weeks after the digital launch, while others claim they may not appear until early 2027. More clarity is expected around mid-February.
At this stage, nothing has been officially confirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two, so this should be taken with a pinch of salt. As more information becomes available, we will make sure to keep you updated here at MP1st.
In related news, GTA 6 delay was so big that it even reached the Polish parliament, with MP Witold Tumanowicz calling the postponement a ‘huge scandal’ and a ‘very disturbing matter’ during a session.
