Silent Hill 2 Remake Has a Stealth Takedown That Easily Lets You Dispatch Enemies
While Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake pretty much stays true to the original in a lot of ways, the studio did manage to implement a bunch of new stuff into the game as well. Not only are the graphics and audio elements new, but Bloober even added a new stealth takedown of sorts for the game as well.
Note that when I say stealth takedown, it doesn’t mean James Sunderland will go all Solid Snake or Sam Fisher on the enemies, but rather, it will let you eliminate some enemies in one melee hit! This saves ample time and ammo, though it does seem like it’ll be hard to do regularly given the game’s confined spaces.
Take a look at it in action:

As you can see, you just need to turn off your flashlight, sneak up on the enemy and hit them from behind. The video shows how that nurse enemy that usually takes at least 6-8 hits before going down completely is taken out almost instantly with just one swipe from behind.
Are there more hidden gameplay mechanics and whatnot in the game? We wouldn’t be surprised if there are. Silent Hill 2 is available now on PS5 and PC, and if you’re unsure whether to get it or not, our review can be read here where we state,”Bloober Team manages to make this horror classic better in every way, and in turn become a classic of its own. Hopefully, this very promising start means we’ll see Bloober Team continue to remake the rest of the series’ games in the coming years.”
In other Silent Hill 2 news, the original game’s director had some few choice words for the remake, though admits the camera is better in the remake as it adds a sense of realism.
