Development on Soulframe is ramping up, with Digital Extremes finally getting ready for the community to join in on building it. A pre-pre-pre-alpha test for Soulframe has been announced and will begin next month with a very limited number of players.
Closing off today’s Warframe Devstream, Digital Extremes’ CEO, Steven Sinclair, took the opportunity to announce an early test phase for Soulframe that starts this December. It’s not exactly the alpha build, or even the pre-alpha, as Sinclair notes, it’s a very early version of the game, adding four “pre” in front of the alpha. He goes on to confirm what players can expect from this build.
- First test is PC only
- A section of the main island has been cut for the purpose of this test.
- It will feature dungeons and combat.
- It will include some progression paths.
- This test will help the team grow the game with the community.
- Some character customization will be available.
- This test will be first-come first-served, going in order of those who signed up on the Soulframe website for their early Envoy title.
- Invites will be sent out via email.
- The first test will be small, with Sinclair saying it’ll be around 100 people initially. This number will grow as development continues.
While he or the team didn’t confirm if what they showed during the stream was going to be included in this test, they did confirm that you can pet the wolf that was featured in the trailer. It was a mechanic the team had just added to the game, with it demoed during the stream.
