Splinter Cell: Blacklist – Spies Vs Mercs Multiplayer Debut Gameplay Trailer

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is going all out this August 20 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and PC with yet another stealth-action single player experience, more co-op missions, and a fresh take on the classic Spies vs. Mercs adversarial multiplayer game mode.

The Spies vs. Mercs game mode originally debuted in Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow and pitted to teams against each other, each with their own specific objectives. The catch was that Mercenaries could only play in first-person view while the spies played in third-person view, giving the Spies a bit of an edge in-terms of awareness, despite their lack of firepower compared to the Mercenaries.

The very same game mode is getting a bit of a face lift as it reappears in this summer’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist. As primomised last week, check out the debut gameplay trailer from IGN below.

What do you guys think? If Ubisoft can pull it off, Spies vs. Mercs could turn out to be a refreshing alternative to today’s traditional multiplayer shooter.
