Star Wars Battlefront Expected To Ship 9-10 Million Units By Next March, Says EA

EA is predicting notable success with their upcoming Star Wars launch from the developers at the Stockholm-based studio, DICE.

According to the company’s CFO, Blake Jorgensen, EA expects to ship 9 to 10 million copies of Star Wars Battlefront by the end of its fiscal year 2016, or by the end of next March.

“We certainly hope we can leverage a lot of the hype,”Jorgensen said in a recent earnings call. “We’re thinking about it as two bookends: One bookend is the historical Battlefront, which did roughly 9 million units. The other bookend is our first-person shooter franchise, Battlefield, which typically does around 15 million units. Our guidance we’ve put in there roughly 9 to 10 million units for the title, which we believe is the upside if things go well.”

Star Wars Battlefront officially releases on November 17 only on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, followed by the launch of a free downloadable expansion pack shortly after that ties into the upcoming movie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
