Respawn and EA’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel is an incredible experience, but unfortunately, a host of performance and hardware issues on all platforms at launch are keeping the title from being enjoyed it to its full potential. In particular, the HDR function is broken on console platforms, significantly worsening the game’s visuals if enabled. However, a potential Star Wars Jedi: Survivor broken HDR workaround has been discovered that fixes the feature’s functionality to a large degree, at least for now. Read on for the steps to use the workaround on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Broken HDR Workaround:
PS5:
- Navigate to the PS5’s “Settings” menu
- Head to “Screen and Video” > Video Output > Adjust HDR
- Increase the brightness to the maximum on all three stages
- Launch Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
- Navigate to Settings > Visuals > Color & Brightness > HDR Brightness
- Set HDR Brightness to 20 and HDR Black Point to 5
Xbox Series X|S:
- Navigate to the Xbox Series X|S “Settings” menu
- Head to “HDR Game Calibration”
- Hit Next, ignore the “Minimum Luminance” screen, and hit Next again
- Set “Maximum Luminance” to the maximum brightness possible
- Launch Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
- Navigate to Settings > Visuals > Color & Brightness > HDR Brightness
- Set HDR Brightness to 50 and HDR Black Point to 25
While the steps may seem counterintuitive, using the workaround significantly improves image quality while HDR is enabled on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game. You can check out the results for yourself below:
