After the official announcement, many are eager to learn more about the Steam Machine, the new compact gaming PC that Valve plans to launch in 2026. Recently, a possible startup animation appears to have leaked online through a short video.

This isn’t official, but the person who shared the video on X (formerly Twitter) said they found it in the Steam database by searching through the files.

Is This the First Look at the Steam Machine’s Startup Animation?

Since the video was shared by Brad Lynch, a project manager at EOZ VR, the leak seems somewhat credible, though it should still be treated as a rumor until verified.

The video, as seen above, currently has no audio. It seems to be an unfinished version, meaning the animation could still be changed or improved later.

Basically, it shows the short animation that may appear when turning on the Steam Machine — much like what happens with gaming consoles. After a few seconds, the Steam logo appears on the screen.

Valve announced the new Steam Machine last month, along with a new controller and VR headset, attracting a lot of attention but without revealing many details yet. The price remains a mystery and has been talked about a lot. According to Linus Sebastian from Linus Tech Tips, who spoke with a Valve representative, the Steam Machine will cost “like a PC, not a console.”
