The Division 2 Support Resuming, Multiple Updates Planned for This Year

The Division 2 Support

It’s been a while since we’ve heard of anything new regarding Ubisoft’s The Division 2. While there is was apparel event and big update that was originally planned to drop in February this year, that was postponed to a later, still-unspecified date in 2022. For the most part, The Division 2 studio Massive Entertainment was radio silent on the game, which everyone assumed was done in its support outside of bug fixes.

Well, it seems that’s not the case. Over on Twitter, Yannick Banchereau, Creative Director of The Division 2, explained that the year they were silent wasn’t to make just one big “come back” update, but it was spent organizing and preparing for continuous support of the game.

Here’s his entire Twitter announcement compiled for an easier read:

Agents, before we all jump on the PTS, there’s something I’d like you to keep in mind. The year we’ve spent working on the game in silence was not spent making one gigantic come back update. It was spent organizing and preparing for continuous support of the game.

The importance of this update is not in its size, but in it heralding a return to normal with more to come after that. If this update doesn’t contain the changes or content you were hoping for, just remember that there are more updates coming throughout the year.

For now, I hope we can all share a happy moment and rejoice that support for the game is resuming. We’re live again!*

This is definitely good news for The Division 2 fans. With last year’s announcement that Massive Entertainment is working on an open-world Star Wars game, I thought that this was the final nail in the coffin for The Division 2. I’m quite glad to see that I was wrong.
