The Division 2 XP Exploit Causing High Latency in Servers, Ubisoft Announces Penalties for Cheaters

The Division 2 Update 1.67

A recent The Division 2 XP exploit, which allows players to earn large amounts of XP in a short period of time, is apparently causing server issues, prompting Ubisoft to release a statement on the matter. The statement reveals that attempting the XP exploit is considered a bannable offense, with repeat offenders facing a permanent ban.

The official Twitter account for The Division released the following statement:

Dear Agents,

We have seen players circumvent game mechanics and systems in order to gain an excessive amount of XP in a short amount of time. This is resulting in high latency on our servers and thereby making the game unstable and unenjoyable. We are monitoring this behavior and players that make use of these exploits will receive a temporary ban (14 days) from the game on first offense. Repeat offenders will be banned permanently.

/The Division 2 Team

Due to the exploit causing server issues for players regardless of whether or not they’re attempting it, Ubisoft seems to be dissuading players from taking advantage of the bug. The tweet does not mention if or when the developers will patch out the exploit, but given the fact that it can cause server performance issues for other players, it’s not unlikely that a fix is already in the works.
