The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered download size and pre-load time have been revealed online. The game is comparable to its original size, even with a brand-new mode attached, but those who are excited will be able to pre-load an entire week ahead of launch.
This information comes from the PlayStation Game Size Twitter/X account, who posted it in a tweet you can see below:

According to the tweet, the game’s going to weigh in at around 76 GB. For comparison, the original version of the game was about 77 GB and change, so the overall file size is nearly identical. The Last of Us Part 1 on PS5 requires about 79 GB to download, so this game is even smaller than its predecessor.
Additionally, the tweet reveals that the game will be available for pre-load starting on January 12 at midnight local time. This means that those who are anxious to hop back into Ellie and Abby’s adventure can start preparing a week early, as the game launches on January 19. This will hopefully give gamers with a slower internet connection ample time to prepare.
We’re really interested to see the new roguelike mode, especially now that we know Naughty Dog was working on a Battle Royale mode in its cancelled multiplayer spin-off.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered launches on PS5 on January 19, 2024.
