Titanfall Director Leading New Team in Respawn to “Find the Fun in Something New”

Titanfall director Steve Fukuda is apparently working on a new project alongside a “very small team” within Respawn Entertainment, according to a recent interview with EA executive and Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella. The project in development was confirmed to not be Titanfall 3, either.

In an interview with Axios Gaming, Zampella revealed that while Respawn would love to work on Titanfall 3, the game currently isn’t in development. This echoes a recent statement made by Zampella days ago, where he stated that while he would “love to see it happen,” it also “has to be the right thing.” This also seems to align with a recent report that an in-development Titanfall game called “Titanfall Legends” was canceled months ago.

Though Fukuda may not be working on a Titanfall sequel, fans of his work may be in for a treat, as he and his team are looking to “find the fun in something new.” This may allude to a new IP or some form of game or project that’s different from what Respawn has released thus far, though we can only speculate as to what this means for the moment.

Respawn Entertainment’s most recent release in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has received mixed reviews from critics and fans, with major performance issues bogging the game down, particularly on PC devices. You can read our review of the game here.
