Rumor: Ubisoft Reportedly Developing Two Assassin’s Creed Game Set in Rome and Jerusalem
If you’ve been hoping for an Assassin’s Creed game set in ancient Rome, there’s some good news for you.
According to a new leak, Ubisoft is reportedly working on two unannounced Assassin’s Creed games, with one set in ancient Rome and the other taking players back to Jerusalem.
The information comes from xj0nathan, a French content creator and well-known Assassin’s Creed insider. He claims to have discovered two internal codenames, Mars and Pocket, through Ubisoft’s backend systems.
Assassin’s Creed May Finally Take Players to Ancient Rome
The first game, known as codename “Mars,” is rumored to be set in ancient Rome, a location that many Assassin’s Creed fans have wanted to explore for a long time.
While there are no details about its story or gameplay yet, the setting alone could make it one of the more interesting projects currently in development at Ubisoft.
The second game, known as “Assassin’s Creed Pocket,” is reportedly being developed for mobile devices and will take place in Jerusalem, a city that fans of the original Assassin’s Creed will already be familiar with.
Unlike the main Assassin’s Creed games, Pocket is said to offer shorter, challenge-based gameplay, similar to the Mastery Challenges introduced in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This could make it a different experience from the usual open-world gameplay the series is known for.
According to j0nathan, the game will have a visual art style similar to Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, rather than the more realistic look of Assassin’s Creed titles. Players will reportedly meet a mentor named Myriam, although her role in the story remains unknown.
For now, Ubisoft has not officially announced either game, so these details should be taken with a pinch of salt. There is also no word on when Mars or Pocket might be released, or when the company plans to reveal them.
